N.C.I. Granollers - Master Classes – 2009/10 Season
The first year of the academy will comprise two intensive learning programmes of one month each; the first in October of 2009 and the second around March / April of 2010. These two introductory sessions will be developed as a framework towards the inaugration of the academy’s one year curriculum proposed to commence in the fall of 2010.
Prior to the opening of the university in October, the N.C.I. will set up ‘Laugh Central’, the administrative office, to coordinate with the administration at the Fabrica de les Arts and contact, contract and enrol students and teachers for the first learning program. This administration will continue throughout the year, organising the teaching courses and researching the future development of the institute.
The initial N.C.I. Clown Theory Master Classes (October 2009 and March 2010)
Will be for up to 30 students. Applicants should be professional and Jango will personally interview them before acceptance. There should be a balance between students from Catalunia and international students. The fees will be kept as low as possible for this first year, depending on how many students there are and the other financial assistance that the Institute receives.
The curriculum will include physical training combined with theatrical and improvisational games and exercises, lectures, audio-visual demonstrations, one-on-one training, internet research assignments, an introduction to ‘Clown Theory’ plus the Comic Formulas and rehearsals for the weekly performance presentation.
The teaching faculty will be between four and six instructors; two permanent master teachers Jango Edwards and Raffeale de Ritis who will oversee the activitities for the whole month, assistant teachers, who can vary, and a different guest teacher each week.
